Cape Brick manufactures revolutionary new Decking Block

During the course of 2006 Cape Brick was approached by Phil Surridge, the dynamic MD of Bobcrete, with a view to collaborating on an exciting new project.

Established in 1987, Bobcrete (Pty) Ltd is a Bellville based precast manufacturer of prestressed concrete flooring systems and staircases. They were the first to introduce hollowcore floor slabs to the Cape, developing their own unique Bobflor-Plus system, specifically tailored to local market requirements. Over the years, they have successfully supplied and installed precast concrete floor-slabs and staircases for houses, roofs, schools, factories, offices, mezzanines and garages, plus many other applications. They provide detailed structural design, (including Engineer's plans for council approval), manufacture, delivery and installation, all in-house.

Following several research trips overseas, Phil came up with yet another Bobcrete first, a revolutionary new rib and decking block system called BOBBLOK. The system has many advantages over current systems available on the market. It requires 50% less site concrete and 42% less propping. It is more economical, allows bigger spans and enables faster construction. It utilises an advanced design and is available at an excellent price, allowing for substantial savings to be made by those innovative enough to try it.
